A major emphasis at St. Agnes Parish is the role of the parents/guardians as the primary educators of their children. I am privileged to be able to assist families in that task by helping the children get to know Jesus Christ more fully through the Sacraments and Church life. It also takes the time, talent, and resources of our entire parish community to provide excellent religious education programs and the dedication of our volunteer catechists who have committed themselves to teach and assist children into a deeper relationship with Christ.
We will seek to provide for the children and their families, the tools of knowledge and faith to live out their commitment to God, and a foundation of Catholic truth on which to build the rest of their lives. We will accomplish this by:
Providing a solid catechesis for grades K – 5, including service projects and family activities.
Assisting parents in the continuation of handing on the faith at home.
Preparing students for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion.
Any parents of children who have not celebrated Baptism or are past the second grade and have not celebrated Reconciliation or First Communion; notify Amy in the Religious Education Office, at the time of registration, in order to arrange for their child to receive these very important Sacraments.
